As for the 'not too bright', I would take it further: It is only with great caution that the attribution of intellect can be extended to most. Just survival abilities.

Desgraciadamente, a las mujeres se les inculca desde la niñez el concepto de que hay que compararse con, criticar, y competir con las demás de las mujeres. Con voluntad, nos traicionamos, nos arruinamos, nos vencemos.
Vaya vergüenza el hecho de que tanta gente sea tan vacía que no puede otra cosa más que comentar acerca de su peso, su presentación, su hermosa cara.
Espero que no se de por vencida ante la presión de la institución del mundo de la música; van a tratar de cambiarla.

Thanks very much. I work with battered women, so am sensitive to women's place in general society (sadly, it's not too bright). Adele is marvellous...how dare we (human race) so readily comment on such superficial and material things such as weight and looks...so frustrating to me! And so rampant.
Regarding words...thanks again. I love language; it's so escapishly wonderful!

I think Adele is actually quite pretty. Her voice is lovely too, it sounds even better live than it does on the radio.
