Nobody is denying that they were created by blacks, and I think we can also all agree that if whites have adapted them back in the day, they wouldn't have given any credit to the black community. But times have changed, at least where I live. Everybody can adapt elements of any other culture they like, without anyone getting hurt. Sure there are more black dancers, because of the background of the dance. But there's no reason why other people should not be able to reach the same level too.

softerworld42, show me footage of whites who dance with the combination of athleticism, rhythm, fluidity of movement and grace like these people. and both swing and lindy were created by blacks. adapted at that time meant taking without giving credit to originators. when this style of dance was at its peak, rarely were blacks given any credit. thank god for youtube, people can actually go to the source.
