There is no "Planetside 2". What he's referring to is a different game very much like Planetside that some PS players have gone on to playing. Those PS players being Azure Twilight. Over the last year they've added a few new things, but the game is basically the same as when you stopped playing. And yes, plenty of people still do play it. Still a great video.
