Here is our local Vintage Wings of Canada P51 attempting to start a few times. He seems to have had a flooding problem and actually has flames shooting out of the exhaust. Ironic that the Mustang is the one that Spits Fire! Third time was the charm. Then the Merlin Powered Spitfire starts up after a little trying. Flying shots include my 3 year olds airplane recognition skills. From August 2006 at the Canada Aviation Museum in Ottawa. Video quality is poor, but the sound is nice!

The RAF used almost every version of the Mustang from the A to the K, so there is nothing wrong with having a D in British colours. Although RAF D version Mustangs usually wore 'standard' camo, some of them were left all silver like American aircraft except of course for the RAF roundals!

The Spitfire is more than an aeroplane, it's a symbol of courage, bravery and defiance against all the odds.

Spitfire...number one fighter of WW2 In at the forefront from 1939 through to 1945 and was NEVER obsolete and always managed to keep pace with the rest. No other fighter managed that.
