the translated german lyrics (i guess they are full of mistakes, but don't care..): the small guy says the words in brackets. Embittered cakes and deathly cookies, a bugs-gateau, fouled chestnuts (not bad), gateau with snake venom (great), cherry pie with curare (delicious), blancmange with a bit arsenic (ingenious). In the boiler with strychnine/ we cook at first turpentine/, on it an anaesthetic/ and a glas of kerosene, oh, maybe two are better.//

venom of a cobra, if possible of it's head/ 3 squashed oranges/ that's what put all and sundry over the edge/ better I put only in a piece of it./ and in the end/ pills are afflicted/ that would be all, I think/ (no, there is still a lack of vitriol)/ NOOOO!! -- or however/ (There you go, I still know what tastes good)/ Both: this blancmange with arsenic won't do good to the gauls, what does the family crocodile/ eat next morning at the nile?/ GAUL'S MEAT!!!!

Curare ist ein pflanzliches Gemisch aromatischer Alkaloide, das aus der Rinde von Strychnospflanzen gewonnen von den Indianern im Amazonas als Pfeilgift verwendet wird. Es lähmt die quergestreifte Muskulatur durch Blockierung der motorischen Endplatten (Verbindung von den Nerven zu den Muskeln) bis hin zum Atemstillstand. Es muß aber injiziert werden oder in die Blutbahn gelangen. Oral aufgenommen ist es nur wenig giftig.

Der Pudding erreicht allenfalls die Stufe Xn (gesundheitsschädlich). Insbesondere Kupfervitriol hätte nicht rein dürfen, ist nämlich ein Brechmittel. :) Generell hätt ich mich für die Schwarzwälder Kirsch mit Curare entschieden.
