If you liked this video you should check out "Vienna Nights" (2CD Zawinul Syndicate Live at his Birdland Vienna), The "World Tour" (2 CD live 1997), also "Brown STreet" (2CD live at Birdland 2005, yes there is a Big BAnd but it grooves like hell).

what are some good records form Zawinul?
I like fusion that has a constant groove, Tribaltech for instance or more prog/jazz like Hiromi Uehara. So what to buy? Any advice would be helpful

Loved this, inspirational grooves! Was jamming to it on violin, so many possibilities within such seemingly 'simple' 2 or 3 note motifs, and the collective groove is a just the most amazing expression of sheer joy. JZ lives on in the spirit of music! like all the immortals he's in an eternal higher dimension beyond time and space...Thanx for posting! |
