It's not that unknown in 'Europe', really. Depends on where you're from, doesn't it? Dutch people love British comedy, so there has always been a lot of it on tv over here. A Bit Of Fry And Laurie too. It helps that Dutch tv uses subtitles instead of dubbing it and that most Dutch people have a pretty good understanding of English, as not every joke translates very well.
