This is really music that you mustn't analyse to much, but just enjoy it the way it is. The title says it :"struggle for PLEASURE"
I think it's also one of the main purposes of all of Wim Mertens' music.

This is why the JazzFest is old and flat stuff going nowhere. Experimental music can break free of the old cliches and offer new realizations and sounds. Even Classical Music could use an injection of Experimentality. But don't touch the Opera! Just tell the singers the standards can not be violated with "miked synthetic voices." |
