Thanks!;-) And....With luck, we can find a middle path that meets that objective. Communication Technology can help make that dream of Diogenes come true. Let's make our footprints on this lovely planet, gentle ones!

Diogenes of Sinope 412BC, who eventually settled in Corinth where he continued to pursue the Cynic ideal of self-sufficiency: a life which was natural and not dependent upon the luxuries of civilization. Believing that virtue was better revealed in action and not theory, his life was a relentless campaign to debunk the social values and institutions of what he saw as a corrupt society.

1969 was the "Requiem" of the hippi movement. after that it was dead. First came the commercialisation, then harder and harder drugs. We used to tick off about a third of our address books, as one by one friends died of overdoses, or drowned on their own vomit! The genuine hippi movement was a real threat to the establishment. No money! for a starter. Self-sufficiency, spiritual values, honesty, fidelity, compassion, mutual help. Everything that spelt nemesis to capitalism. So it was trashed!
