Actually, back in WW2, the ally did try to make a aircraft carrier outta ice. But, they didn't finish it 'cause it took a friggin' LONG ASS TIME. And of course, the fact that it could melt. It took more than a year, (if I remember correctly), to get 3/4 of it done.
