Google "Robert C. Scaer brain state technologies" for another awesome presentation on neurological mammalian processes related to trauma.

This is a great, great presentation. I wish all presenters could be so well done.

Kabat-Zinn is a wonderful author and obviously also a leader in this field but I find this speaker is a much better lecturer. He gets to the point, obviously has planned his presentation in advance in a way that will transfer essential knowledge, and is not meandering and random.

I am really happy to see that neuroscience is digging deeper into mindful meditation with the aim to help people suffering from mental disorder.

Obviously, we observe a true shift in paradigm of psychotherapy: the making of neuropsychotherapy. What is "exposure"? Skinner and Wolpe didn't believe we had to know nothing about "the black box" - now we do! And that knowledge will change, and it'll change therapy. "Exposure" is not only a "reciprocal inhibition" it is a psychological treatment technic that change neural structures. And that's not has not necessarilly be called "behavioural" therapy - it has to be called "neuropsychotherapy".

In relation to this check out The New Paradigm in Psychology by Ruben Feldman Gonzalez. He talks about Unitary Perception which Jiddu Krishnamurti called meditation. It is not a technique because techniques are still within thought.
