A little did you know:
Chandler was considered a leading candidate for President on the Democratic side in 1940 had FDR not run for his third term...when he was elected governor of Kentucky in the 1930's he was considered the "Boy Governor" because he was only in his 30's...

Mr. Chandler passed in 1991.
I have no other connection to Kentucky except that my mom spent quite a lot of time there growing up (she was born across the river, in Cincinnati) and it always was "home."
I hope to visit sometime.

I am Canadian and a proud Newfoundlander, We Newfoundlanders have many Home Like songs of our colony-that's what we were before we joined Canada in 1949. I like Stephen Foster's music-saw his life-story in a movie-Swanee River if i recall was the title. My Old Kentucky Home is sacred to a Kentuckian the same way Let Me Fish of Cape St.Mary's or Saltwater Joys is sacred to most Newfoundlanders. Lovely.

I truthfully don't know what we're going to do. How can we have a game without Mr. Wildcat. He was one of the greatest humans to ever set foot on this planet. God bless him.
