You can get rid of them without the animal cruelty bit (ie freezing them). Cane toads are far from the worst species introduced to Australia.

the cane frog (that was introduced to kill off beetles eating sugar canes[plan failed; toads couldn't jump high enough to eat them]) they never bothered to get rid of them and let them run wild. They are populating fast and are considered a plague to some. They are screwing up the Australian habitat. I'm personally against animal cruelty, but in the case of these frogs I don't care. Kill them off before they cover all of Australia.
