Puccini's aria is one of opera's greatest, so moving, beautifully crafted, and performed here by a fine artist. To my ears, Callas's performances of this musical masterpiece really suffer by contrast and seem beyond her vocal reach.

man...the way she ascends into those high notes!!! She just floats right up there! She's got a very full, dramatic voice....she did a beautiful job..but....well....her voice sounds too mature to fit the character of a young girl who's in love....but she still did a great job!

everyone can have his own opinion of her singing... she may not be the best but still she made her way all by herself and has become famous and respected all over the world. though i think she's great.

Forget the world, close your eyes, feel the gentle flutter, let your soul gravitate and feel the music as it was meant to be felt. She is great because she sings the aria with such conviction, it flows and we follow.

The sound quality could be better, but Renée is in good form, as usual. Wish someone would post "Haunted Heart" as it's a fabulous recording.
