If one day, the Islamic world is also equipped with weapons like those that Israel possesses now, then the imperialists' strategy will reach a standstill because the use of even one nuclear bomb inside Israel will destroy everything. However, it will only harm the Islamic world. It is not irrational to contemplate such an eventuality. (December 2001)[31] (Hashemi Rafsanjani, former President of Iran, Currently on expediency council of Iran)

] According to these views, the principles are so rigorous in their search for evidence, that they create the near impossibility of being able to reach a verdict that goes against the suspect in any manner.[109

A widely publicised case of torture carried out in Iranian prisons, was that of photojournalist Zahra Kazemi, mentioned above. She had been arrested while reportedly photographing protesting relatives of students held at Evin prison. Doctors examining her body determined that she died from a fractured skull and had been beaten, tortured, and raped.[65]

In Iran, this creates numerous problems in issues regarding rape. The punishment for rape is the death penalty.[107] However, in such cases, the act of sexual penetration must be attested by at least four male Muslim witnesses of good character.

I think the main problem that the West has with Ahmadinejad is that he does not see Israel as a state. He is a good politician and his openness and friendship to other "nations" seems to omit Israel which in the later questions he refers to a Zionists, while recognizing a Palestinian state. This though oddly remains unquestioned. I'm not taking sides but the belief that Israel should-be/are Islamic lands (after the "success" of the revolution) is the elephant in the room.
