for one pt of view, think of it as japanese country/western. Most (not all) u.s. young'ns don't go for Merle Haggard either. Hope this helps, chunkino-san.

now i understand why japanese ppl likes "fado" (tradicional portuguese music) itz very alike enka, music that is played with the soul not whith a voice

I work in the U.S. with international students from Japan and I am so sad how the Japanese students hate enka and prefer rap and American culture. (nothing wrong with rap but nothing wrong with enka either)
