That's possibly one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard yet. Are you saying a MC who spent his time rappin acapella in a cypher could never develop a "flow"? In any case, my point is that Bis can spit with cadence and can punch out the multi's when he wants, but he never really develops a story to tell (which GZA does flawlessly). Haven't heard Poet Laureate Infinite yet, so I can't judge the recent stuff. As far as producers? I honestly prefer Nottz, Illmind, or 9th to Stoupe.

Well, rules are rules my friend. An MC lays his flow and cadence on the beat, thats what determines the flow, not the other way around. Canibus is not on beat all album, so his flow is of course nonexistant. Sorry but thats the meaning of flow, one must be on beat, Bis was not. Needless to say it wasn't the first time. Either way Bis is vastly overrated in all categories. But then, so is Stoupe. Nas also is infamous for his lack of ability to stay on beat. Peep "Success" from A.G. for proof.

Yeah, Rip The Jacker had its beats made while Bis was in the Army and he couldn't get in the lab with Stoupe... so what? If you listen to the acallepas, you can hear the cadence and flow was on point. It'd be a different argument if Stoupe had the beats ready for him. As far as Nas goes... like I said: poet. For all his glory goes for St/Illmatic, he did put out a lot of BS. Still... how cold he was on Q-Tip's beat for "One Love"? Few can follow. All said, GZA still outshines, one.

True, Nas has that rep, but the rep makes up most of his respect. He's tarnished his standing by deliberately catering to pop trends and failing to pull it off as well as his contemporaries. I don't see GZA as ever having made that sacrifice since Words From A Genius on Cold Chillin. Additionally I feel GZA is much more mature in his lyrical content than NaS. Bis btw is not techically sound. He didnt even match his flows to Stoupe's beats on Rip the Jacker... he gave him acapellas! Thats trash

Well, Nas was the first real ghetto poet, and Bis is technically sound... but GZA just flies over people's heads like Southwest. I mean, how many other MC's out could put together a dope album with a chess theme that _doesn't_ come off backpackin?
