learn your history! totaly NOT FAKE!

The temperature was around -6 degrees celsius at the start of his jump.
It would get colder going down through the stratosphere and then later increase in temperature in the troposphere.
He jumped near the stratopauze through the 'ozon layer'. No air resistence = no balance, wich i think is critical. I also doubt the heating part. I don't think it's fake, but i wonder if it's really Kittinger who jumped from the gondola.

the reason its not a fake is that there was hardly any air in that part of the atmosphere (the mesosphere) is above the ozone layer and has hardly any gas or other things to resist him and heat him up. Thats the reason he reached those incredible speeds. No resistance = No heat.
Also his suit was presureised so his body did not feel presure changes as much.

its not fake. its some american captain in the 1960's. just saw it on BBC2, a program about the atmosphere. jumped from 31km and took 15minutes to land.
supercooldude181 (August 10, 2008 at 1:58 pm)
this must be fake! there´s not possible that his body could resist the temperature and presion changes with just one suit and going to fast! he should wait a little to keep moving so in that way your body could hold the changes, I think that the fisrt part and the last one are a different one |
