Most artists play a different "character" on stage. In real life they are often quite different from what they appear to be. When people don't like a certain artist they tend to refer to him/her as "a poser" while in fact most mainstream artists are forced to play another persona in order to look cool -> attract more fans -> be more succesful -> make more money.
