i remember seeing the re-entry live on my tv i didnt see it explode i didnt know what was happening at the time. i was like 8. i only remembered the name space shuttle colombia and my parents being really shocked

uh huh...and why would a sprite hit cause the ship to slowly fall apart? And why study it that close when they can see them from space? Crackpot crap like that really annoys me. No, I think this theory exists more due to somebodies bias against an establishment, so they try to push the blame on some secret government experiment instead of just a simple accident from poor design because it sounds better for their slanted viewpoint of the world
