For Christ's sakes, I agree! I live in the United States but I'm no dummy.... 1066 was arguably as important a year in world history as 1945.

I teach Property Law, and I try to convey how crucial the Conquest was for our subject. I had the same experience Jacob describes, looking in vain for a feature film treatment of the most important date in Anglo-American legal history. Thank heavens someone is doing it! -- Prof. J.
