There is no such thing is an "Egyptian" race you fools .. Based on recent genetic studies, North Africans and Middle Eastern have a mixed ancestry of African-European descent . The Majority of Egyptians tend to have more African (Black) genes , which explains their afro-looks. While Palestinians for example , have more European blood composition. It's not about muslims "coming later" to the territory. There was an existing population that converted to Islam. It's not the muslims came and removed the christains - those same people converted. But it doesn't change their origins. There are muslims in egypt whose origins trace back similarly as those who are christian. And by the way, there are many egyptian muslims who also don't consider themselves arabs. Being Arab is a linguistic tie.

irst it didnt have any religious meanin because at this time the population of egypt was mostly christian so for the arabs copt meant the same as the population of egypt(which meant egyptian christian without discrimination because all the people were christians, and all the people=population).yes before it really refered for all egyptians but nowadays as many of the population was converted to muslim it only refers to the remain of the egyptian christians

just about the 6-9°% of the population in egypt is coptic(egyptian christian) the remain mostly made up of arabs who are muslims...mostly coptic people dont consider themselves arabs or just at the last time...my husband doesnt consider himself arab too
