The producer Timbaland seems to have used a six year old song from a finish musician and used it for the song "Do it" by Nelly Furtado. See my first video for more details about that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... New information has now come up that suggests that not only did he use it for the Nelly Furtado track, but also to sell "his own original ringtones" a year earlier. Watch this video to see for yourself! For more information, check out these links: The ringtone: http://msntg.zingy.com/selectI... Another site offering the ringtone: http://aimringtones.aol.com/we... The original forum-thread at SomethingAwful: http://forums.somethingawful.c... The Digg-thread: http://www.digg.com/music/Timb... I would like to add something else too: the point of these videos was to show the similarities between the songs. For some reason that is completely foreign to me, some users feel that this is the forum to express their hateful and racist comments about other people. I WILL NOT TOLERATE SUCH BEHAVIOUR! If you want to comment the videos, that is fine, but BE ADULT ABOUT IT! If the only thing that you can think of writing is something you wouldn't like said about yourself then don't write it. If the hateful and racist comments continue, I will simply disable the commenting-feature. Thank you for your time.

you are stupid...thats sampling:S

Yes it's called Sampling but every Hip Hop Producer that is releasing had to clear the samples he used on his tracks. That means he must pay money to the original artists. Thats the way it normaly works. And that's cool because they deserve credits for their hard work.

He made it better if anything...

The difference is those artists you mentioned 'CLEAR' the samples they use by telling the OWNER of the RIGHTS to that song that they are going to release a track with a sample of it and they pay them $ to clear the sample.

Yeah i agree, it's how hip hop works, everyone's a thief, so why not let them get away with it!

he does use heaps of other artists melodies and tunes (not just samples) with out asking permission. i like him as a producer but you gotta give some recognition to the other artist. any one could of ripped off that song and just add a drum beat if they had an akai mpc 1000 or 3000 or just a drum machine. thats life

It's not sampling when it's the entire song.
