Wild Police Chase; Suspect Behind Bars February 16, 2008 ATLANTA -- Alonzon Jones may have a lot to answer for. Jones, 29, Saturday found himself in the Fulton County Jail, facing a host of charges for his role in a wild police chase Friday afternoon. It was a chase that included a wrong-way driving, blown tires and, finally, the suspect, Jones, run down by a police car after he ditched his own car and tried to escape on foot. Predictably, traffic was snarled in the area where it all ended...I-285 at Moreland Avenue. The chase began just after 5:00 p.m. in southeast Atlanta. The driver pulled onto the Perimeter and started driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes in DeKalb County. Rush hour drivers headed eastbound had to dodge the fleeing suspect as he veered across four lanes of the Interstate. A blown tire slowed him down, but didn't stop him. With smoke coming from the flat tire he kept running from police. Officers stayed on the correct side of 285 but kept pace with him. At one point the suspect pulled a U-turn across the highway and headed for an exit. Police were anticipating that move and had a car waiting for him. When the suspect slammed on his brakes and jumped from the car the police cruiser slammed into him and sent him flying. Looking like an NFL running back the suspect bounced right back up and took off with an officer hot on his heels. With the officer closing ground quickly, the suspect turned and surrendered. Police charged Jones with theft by receiving stolen auto, felony obstruction and a host of traffic violations. He faces a judge on Monday morning.

Why does it matter? If you run then you have something to hide he should have pulled over and dealt with what ever charges he should face instead of putting the general public into danger.

no need for apologies and ur completely correct the cops have the hardest job and they tend to be the most hated. i must say i have had nothing but good experiences with the police. the few bad ones make it bad for the good ones. most ppl that hate them are prolly on the wrong side of the law.

Yung, ok. I'm reading you wrong. But you have to agree, there are a lot of people who simply see the police as the enemy. Maybe I'll change my mind when I get my next speeding ticket but I'm sick of people beating up on the police. My apoligies.

You did not state a fact at all. You stated an assumption. What part of "fact" and "assumption" didn't YOU understand?
MGR1900 (July 16, 2008 at 5:29 pm)
That wasn't a fact. That was an assumption that the cop did something of which you have no evidence. I was going to apoligize to you however after thinking about it, no apology is necessary because you are accusing the cop of something of which you have no evidence. You are the one who needs to apoligize. Idiot.

i wasnt putting down the cop idiot. that driver got what he deserved, i simply stated a fact. what part didnt u understand?

"u know the cop beat his ass in the bushes. " Good for the cop! And I'm sure if the loser would have killed your mother on the road, you'd be suing the police for not catching the guy soon enough.
