Half of this group is gone. IMO, this a super group, much like Return to Forever, Weather Report and the like...

I believe it's the Santa Barbara Bowl. Worth some easy reseach.

Thanks Ffwee. Sad to hear Mr. Alias is no longer with us.

The drummer is/was Don Alias. He was also the same gentleman who played Congas for Jaco on "Donna Lee" from Jaco's first album. Sadly, Mr. Alias passed away in 2006. Not sure where this was filmed.

Wow. What a band. Anyone know who's on drums? And is this at the Hollywood Bowl? Kind of looks it.

I'd have given my right arm to see Joni with a band like this doing her incredible 70s material. My old man is a big fan of hers - especially of the 70s stuff - and I picked up the bug real strong when I was growing up during that period. Watching this really takes me back, but the song sounds like it was written yesterday, it's so fresh. God I love you Joni!

Great musicians tend to play with good people. I cant recall anyone she played with as being bad. You might like to look at the quality of musicians Billie Holiday played with.
