unfortunately, the harpsichord he plays here is not a copy of a baroque original, it's a neupert/wittmayer-style modern harpsichord. such instruments were still in vogue until a couple of decades ago. their timbre is poor compared to copies of originals.

my favorite composition by gould is the string quartet. do listen to it! get the "glenn gould the composer" album

to worldssmallestfan - Yes, but mostly only by concert performers. And they need to be tuned as frequently as a guitar, so they're not for the average Joe. :)

What do you mean maxdesp? The clicking noise is to do with the mechanism of the harpsichord. Most of Gould's performances of Bach were on the piano (where obviously there's no clicking). I don't dispute that Gould must've had a mathematical mind, however
