Well thats good, I thought you wrote off music because of the vocals but i suppose not, to be honest mastodon isnt all that great but they do have a fairly original style which is very hard to find in modern bands, especially metal bands, because so many people just want to be metallica.

I simply don't find growling estethically pleasing in any way. I do like some music with agressive vocals, but then it is because of the technicality (CC), or melody (CoB, some DB), but all it amounts to is me ending up wishing it had clean vocals.

I'm really not angry, I don't know what was going through my head when I said that I feel disgusted, because to be honest I'm apathetic about this whole thing - I really coulden't care less that you don't like mastodon, it's your loss. I find it a bit strange that you like the roots of metal but not the later growths in the genre (you obviously dont like anything with any kind of aggressive vocals).. Just try and expand your musical tastes, you'll have more music to listen to.

How am I living in the past when most of those singers are still active putting out new music to this day? And I didn't comment at all on your musical taste. I love maiden, zeppelin, queen and dio, so I think that answers your question - you seem to have made a 'pretentious presumption' about my musical taste. You are a narrow minded dipshit, I almost feel disgusted that you like some of the same music that I like. I appreciate the kind of 'singers' that you like, but I also appreciate people trying out different styles and unlike you, I am not living in the past.

Do names like Jim Morrison, Bruce Dickinson, Freddie Mercury, James LaBrie, Roy Khan, Robert Plant, Fabio Lione, Tobias Sammet, Myles Kennedy and Ronny James Dio mean anything to you? I guess not, especially with your pretentious presumptions about my musical taste. I'll tell you who they are. They are the names of singers. Great singers. What they do, is sing. The people in Mastodon don't.

Why is it not singing? What kind of music do you listen to? Pop? Being an artist is about challenging preconceptions - its like duchamp sticking a urinal in an art exhibition. Thats taking it too far and giving these guys too much credit i know, but they are a lot further down the road than most of the people im guessing you listen to (im guessing you only like bands who sing with an accessible pop sound or traditional 'good' voice)
