well, you can't be TOO annoyed at parker's absence once lester young walks out there and puts on the old pork-pie hat. this is a damn good clip actually. lester is in good form for that period of his career, buddy rich and raybrown are terrific and the trombone player (probably vic dickerson) is pretty swinging too. and ella is really one of the only people who can scat sing (other than satch) and not look and sound goofy doing it.
