Why do people think freelanders are crap? We went round the off-road course at the LRO show at driffeild in it and overtook a disco that got stuck in deep mud. The weakest part of the drivetrain is the rear diff but as it is mainly front wheel drive you could get it home. The most common parts that wear out are the IRD and the Viscous Coupling. Thats what people think break on them. You have no idea how strong these things are, do you?

yeah but you would need a tow truck to get it home after the drivetrain destructed.

God our baby landy (Freelander) would do that... He simply wasn't driving quick enough to get the back end to follow the front.
