Matine was injured in a fall from a trailer at the World Cup in Las Vegas in 2007. He had hoped to ride her in the Olympics, but felt she was not 100% so used Don Shufro instead. She should be back soon.

Hm. Loved the coordination of the music and rider/horse 2:35 to 3:02 :] and at 5:04 to 6:00. This horse was genius. I adore dressage. I must agree with the announcer. A sensational performance indeed.

I love this partnership. Helgestrand is a great rider and Matine is an amazing mare. But I think that 9 is a little young for doing grand-prix. Does anyone know if Matine ever competed in the FEI young horse classes?

Many judges do not adhere to the valid principles of classical equitation,they prefer the mechanical perfection of a horse ridden under controlled tension to the suppleness of the genuinely well-schooled horse. The dominance of commercial motivation means young horses are brought on to perform much too quickly. The horse is being denigrated to an item of merchandise and riding to a line of business

He competes with very young horses (8-9 years old) and I wonder where the horses are left a few years later. Theses horses are very good prospectives. If he would ride in the name of the horse, he wouldn´t use every show and competetion for presenting himself. I don´t like his way of warming up. Most of the time you can watch him riding Pi/Pa. She doesn´t have the strength (because she is so young) to do it without getting physical/psychical problems |
